About Kenpo
Jean-Guy Angell introduced Kenpo to Montreal, Canada in 1967. Lew Simms brought this relatively new form of combat to British Columbia in 1984. In 2001, Dan Blakey and Aileen Gilbertson opened a school in Nanaimo, British Columbia within the guidelines of the Jean-Guy Angell Kenpo Federation. In 2003 Matt Cardon earned his black belt and is now another of the instructors. Dan and Aileen continue to teach at the Nanaimo School, but the day to day operations and a majority of the instruction has been turned over to Matt Cardon.
